Learn to Create Electronic Music
With Zamar Music Academy

The Academy's "A Better Way to Learn" curriculum provides a decolonized, inclusive approach to music education.

It blends diverse musical traditions and perspectives, making learning enjoyable and accessible while fostering creativity and a deeper appreciation of music.

Students will develop fundamental skills in electronic instruments and music creation, allowing them to explore electronic music as both a creative practice and a performance-based art form. Lessons may be customized to include information specific to each student’s learning needs, musical interests, and creative goals.

Instruction focuses on electronic music as a tradition unto itself, incorporating history and theory while developing transferable skills for beat making, production, recording, and digital composition across a variety of musical styles.

Students will follow Zamar Music Academy’s syllabus to develop the necessary skills for beginner, intermediate, and advanced studies. Students may also select their own material, genres, and creative projects to support their individual interests.

Students will be given the opportunity to develop rhythmic precision, ear training, and applied music theory while learning DAW fundamentals such as recording, MIDI sequencing, and editing, alongside an introduction to analogue concepts including synthesizers, mixers, and signal flow.

As students advance, topics such as sound design, improvisation, and producing by ear will be introduced using both software and optional analogue hardware.

Lessons are designed to be accessible and affordable, with recommendations for free or low-cost software and plugins that emulate analogue equipment. Additional theory lessons are recommended to enhance overall musicianship for intermediate and advanced students.
